2 flute, carbide tipped with bottom cutter insert for plunge cutting, (except for solid carbide router bits #15450, #17740 and #17750, which do not plunge cut). Items #17740, #17742 and #17744 are designed for European metric size plywoods. See chart below for undersize equivalency. Straight router bits are the workhorse of any router bit collection and will plane, cut grooves, rabbets, slots and dadoes. Also used for mortising and carving, as well as other applications where a flat bottom is required. 1/4" and 1/2" shank.

KATANA router bit (5/5), Apr 27, 2010

Hi. Just thought I'd drop you folks a note about one of your product lines. Several weeks ago I purchased one of the Katana router bits, # 17756 and finally got a chance to use it today. WOW!!! All I can say is fanfreakingtastic. I've used other bits by different mfg's. with reasonably satisfactory results. This Katana bit however slices through this heavy Maple I have here in NC like it was cheddar cheese. I work mainly with tree stumps and slabs to make tables and let me assure you, some of this stuff is murder on a cutting edge. After approx. 2 hours of pretty much non-stop use, I took the bit off my router and noticed there was a good deal of pitch residue covering it. I normally clean my bits with store brand fume-free oven cleaner so I sprayed this one down and let it soak for about 15 mins. Hit it with some hot water and my scrub brush and it's clean as new. Also, (and this is what gets me), IT'S STILL SHARP ENOUGH TO SHAVE WITH!! Now THAT'S performance. None of my other bits can even come close to this. Even my Freud bit can't go for more than an hour maybe before it needs honing. I'm sold on the Katana bits from you guys. I'll be ordering again pretty soon as I want a couple on hand just in case I get some extra days to play in the shop.

Laminate Trimming Bits

Do the same work in less time! Our specially designed 2 flute carbide tipped laminate trimming bits include the Euro™ Square Teflon bearing. These bits are designed to slide on clean laminate edges. The bearing will not scratch your work piece. Glue will not stick to the bearing. The bit cuts a slight bevel for a clean cut and no filling is required. Use the 1/2" size for small laminate trimmers and the 3/4" size for larger routers and router tables. Patent pending.

Pattern/Flush Trim Router Bits

2 flute, carbide tipped with totally enclosed ball bearing guides. The top mounted bearing is ideal for template routing. In addition to template routing these bits are convenient for flush trimming in many applications where a bottom mounted bearing is not practical. Exactly trims workpiece to pattern. No sanding is required. 1/4" and 1/2" shank.

Solid Carbide Spiral Flush Trim Router Bits
